The Medley Centre mall is located in Irondequoit, New York near Rochester. This shopping center is 80% vacant, only boasting some remaining shops and services, plus the 3 anchor tenants, Macy's, Sears, and Steve & Barry's University Sportswear. The mall was opened for business in 1990, and is currently owned by The Pyramid Companies, and management is ensured by Adam Bersin.
The family friendly services the Medley Centre has to offer are not different from any of those normally provided by a regional shopping center that focuses on the average customer, with certain stores for the occasional upscale shopper. The services for families are stroller rental and diaper changing areas in the restrooms, plus a children's play area. Parking is ample and free, but unfortunately there is no valet parking service, nor are there any indoor parking lots. There have been no major security incidents lately near the mall premises, but there have been many false rumors related to this, mostly stemmed from preconceived ideas about the Latino community that occupies a large part of the northern area near the mall.
The Medley Centre mall is not spectacular in either dining or entertainment as there is no cinema within the mall premises, and the restaurants are few and uninteresting, The mall has begun to repopulate, however, and it will not be long until it gains a better image and status again. The mall hours are Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sundays from noon to 7 p.m. Those interested in a carrier at Medley Centre mall should see the job listings at the designated office within the shopping center, as there are no such references on the official site.
